As writer and producer of Neutral Territory, I always think the movie has reached its life cycle and it’s time to put it on the shelf. But, as the saying goes, there is life in the old girl yet. The movie is being dubbed into German right now in Switzerland. The director Josias Tschanz has flown over there to supervise and dub his own voice. Also a famous Swiss actor Gilles Tschudi will voice Werni, who, if you’ve watched the film, is the crazy, old father. You can view Tschudi’s IMDB profile http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0874834/. Once the dubbing is done it will be on German television and German itunes and in theaters in Switzerland and there is even greater possibilities!
It’s really great to see how far Neutral Territory has come and hopefully more success will follow. It started out as a small concept. We had a very modest budget and little experience in making movies, but Neutral Territory became our education. I personally learned more than any film degree could possible have taught us. Except for friends and family — who often picked us up when we were feeling down — we had very little support along the way. But despite the trials and tribulations we have made the film into a huge success, winning many awards and getting into many film festivals. It became far bigger than I could have ever imagined.
But the most valuable thing I learned from Neutral Territory wasn’t about cameras, lights, acting or even script writing. This movie has taught me with hard work and the right attitude you can succeed. There have been many people along the way who said we couldn’t do it, that Neutral Territory would go nowhere, but we have all proven them wrong.
I challenge you to remain focus, keep a positive attitude and you too will succeed at whatever you put your mind to. Drop me a line if you want and tell me about your own failures and triumphs. I always love hearing from you!
